SENNTRi is a sub-regional initiative, set up in 2000 to maximise the social and economic benefits of South East Northumberland and North Tyneside.

SENNTRi was established as a response to the economic underperformance in South East Northumberland and a number of high profile job losses. It was seen as a mechanism for developing and linking the economies along the A19/A189 Corridor from growth areas in the south to boost property 'cold spots' further north

As a sub-regional initiative SENNTRi brings together public, private and third sector agencies to capitalise on social and economic benefits.

Having agreed a Strategy and Action Plan in 2002 which set out the vision to create a Corridor of Opportunity an ambitious three year Business Plan for the area was launched in October 2006 following a review of SENNTRi. This aims to move towards the delivery of a limited range of key projects to develop a region that attracts new investment and offers long term employment, educational and cultural opportunities.

This Business Plan is reviewed and updated annually and an updated Business Plan that was approved in 2007 is availible on this website.

This website is designed to help you find out more about the work of SENNTRi. You can also check out the news section to get the latest on regeneration plans for South East Northumberland and North Tyneside.
